About Dr Roy Chad

Dr Chad qualified as a medical doctor in 1974 from Birmingham University. He then started his psychiatric training at Oxford – working for a time as a clinical lecturer at Oxford University, obtaining his membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1978. He then moved to complete his senior training at the Royal Free hospital in London. Dr Chad became a full time NHS consultant psychiatrist in Chelmsford, at the age of 32. He worked as a general adult psychiatrist within the NHS for over 27 years.

Consulting Dr Chad

Dr Chad offers a comprehensive diagnostic assessment interview, using appropriate recognised diagnostic assessment tools within a full clinical interview usually lasting on average 90 minutes. The interview will be unhurried and relaxed, which is hoped will allow you to fully describe your problems, ask questions and discuss fully all options for your treatment.

Ideally Dr Chad would welcome the opportunity to complement the history with a history from a relative or partner. This would only be done with the agreement of the patient. Certainly anyone attending for an interview can bring someone along with them to the interview, for support, if they wish.
